I used a blog called HalfwayAnywhere to prepare for the PCT. The website’s owner (Mac), happened to be the one that gave us a hitch into Bishop. He was setting off to bike the Tour Divide in a few days (another long trail).

“Sun cups”, a thing that happens in the snow from the freeze thaw cycle. It makes snow very tiring to hike on because you constantly slip and slide into the little cups and have to high step out of them.
